Bupati Kabupaten Bangka Selatan H. Jamro H. Jalil membuka secara resmi kegiatan penyaluran dana program kemitraan CSR PT Timah (persero) Tbk pada semester 1 tahun 2011 bertempat di Gedung Nasional Toboali. H. Jamro dalam sambutannya mengatakan, tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam melaksanakan pembangunan di berbagai sektor adalah terwujudnya masyarakat yang adil dan makmur, baik itu material maupun spiritual di negeri Junjung Besaoh.
Di sadari bersama kondisi ekonomi ditanah air secara keseluruhan saat ini belum stabil, oleh karena itu dihimbaukan kepada seluruh pelaku bisnis baik usaha mikro kecil dan menengah (UMKM) dan Koperasi harus benar-benar menyadari kondisi yang terjadi dengan berupaya mencari solusi agar kegiatan yanag dilakukan dapat tetap bertahan dan berjalan sesuai apa yang kita harapkan. HSBC Sisihkan Profit 0,5% untuk Lingkungan

Hongkong and Sanghai Bank Corporation (HSBC) Indonesia menyisihkan keuntungan (profit) perusahaan sebesar 0,5 persen untuk program corporate social responsibility (CSR). Salah satunya kepedulian terhadap lingkungan.

Hal tersebut diungkapkan Chief Technology and Services Officer HSBC, Jeffry Cheung, kepada wartawan, di sela-sela acara Green Festival the Hidden Value of The Forest, Jakarta, Sabtu (25/6/2011). [okezone.com]

Antam Setor Rp50 miliar Dana CSR

PT Aneka Tambang, Tbk menyumbang dana corporate social responsibility senilai Rp50 miliar kepada Pemerintah Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara (Sultra). Gubernur Sultra Nur Alam mengatakan sebanyak Rp11 miliar dipersiapkan untuk membangun gedung Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah (RSUD) Sultra di Kota Kendari.

"Pembangunan gedung administrasi beserta peralatan kantornya membutuhkan dana setidaknya Rp6 miliar. Dengan demikian, kelebihan anggaran sebesar Rp5 miliar lagi akan dialokasikan untuk penataan taman dan pagar halaman rumah sakit," katanya di Kendari, Jumat (24/6). Total dana yang dibutuhkan merampungkan rumah sakit beserta peralatan kesehatan diperkirakan mencapai Rp500 miliar. [nasional.jurnas.com]

Timah Salurkan Rp 34,9 M Dana CSR

Now, entrepreneurship is promoted by many people especially conglomeration. They have a board like foundation or another team to empowerment people in the communities. So, what is social entrepreneurship ?

Social entrepreneurs are individuals with innovative solutions to society’s most pressing social problems. They are ambitious and persistent, tackling major social issues and offering new ideas for wide-scale change (www.ashoka.org)
Futhermore, Ashoka as incubator for social entrepreneurs give some examples  of leading social entrepreneurs:
  • Susan B. Anthony (U.S.): Fought for Women's Rights in the United States, including the right to control property and helped spearhead adoption of the 19th amendment.
  • Vinoba Bhave (India): Founder and leader of the Land Gift Movement, he caused the redistribution of more than 7,000,000 acres of land to aid India's untouchables and landless.
  • Dr. Maria Montessori (Italy): Developed the Montessori approach to early childhood education.
  • Florence Nightingale (U.K.): Founder of modern nursing, she established the first school for nurses and fought to improve hospital conditions.
  • Margaret Sanger (U.S.): Founder of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, she led the movement for family planning efforts around the world.
  • John Muir (U.S.): Naturalist and conservationist, he established the National Park System and helped found The Sierra Club.

BNI Syariah alokasikan Dana CSR

PT Bank Negara Indonesia Syariah mengalokasi dana Rp2,8 miliar yang diperuntukan bagi Manajemen Syukur sebagai wujud dari tanggungjawab sosial perusahaan dengan fokus pada pendidikan. 
Direktur Utama BNI Syariah Rizqullah mengatakan sebanyak 50% atau Rp1,4 miliar dana tanggungjawab sosial perusahaan (Corporate Social Responsibility/CSR) itu berasal dari sebagian keuntungan perseroan dan sisanya merupakan sumbangan karyawan BNI Syariah.

Nestlé Forum discusses shared value creation in Indonesia

International experts discussed the challenge of closing inequality gaps in Indonesian society at a Creating Shared Value (CSV) Forum held by Nestlé in Jakarta today. 
More than 200 representatives from business, government, civil society and academia attended Nestlé Indonesia’s second CSV Forum, which focused on nutrition and rural development.

The Forum, part of a series organised by Nestlé in a selection of countries where it operates, encouraged the exchange of ideas on how the private and public sector can create social value through sustainable partnerships.

Frits van Dijk, Nestlé Executive Vice President and Zone Director for Asia, Oceania, Africa and Middle East attended the event, where he explained how Creating Shared Value is an intrinsic part of the Company’s business strategy.

Six UN PRI principles

The United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI) have become the de facto global initiative requiring institutional investors to include environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.  The UN PRI principles commit to:
  1. Incorporating ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.
  2. Incorporating ESG issues into ownership policies and practices.
  3. Seeking appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which investments are made.
  4. Promoting acceptance and implementation of the principles within the investment industry.

WBCSD welcomes the Indonesian BCSD to its Regional Network

The Indonesian Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD) was launched today in Jakarta. In addition to 30 business leaders, the inauguration was attended by Indonesia’s Minister for Industry, Mr. S. Hidayat; the Minister for Environment, Mr. Gusti Muhammad Hatta; the Chairman of the Indonesian National Council on Climate Change, Mr. Rachmat Witoelar; and the Chairman of Indonesia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Mr. Suryo B. Sulisto. The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) was represented by its Special Advisor on Indonesia, Mr. Neil Franklin.

The IBCSD will provide a platform for businesses to share best practice in tackling risks and taking advantage of opportunities related to sustainable development. It will also act as a key partner to government and civil society providing business input and solutions for Indonesian policies on sustainability issues.
